Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Most people have plenty of questions about hypnosis before coming to hypnosis. Brenda is always happy to answer these FAQs because she knows that the more comfortable someone is with the process, the easier it will be for them to achieve their goals with hypnosis. Here are some FAQs that Brenda gets from potential clients…
What is hypnosis? One of the most common definitions that is used in the hypnosis field comes from the US Government. Hypnosis is the “bypass of the critical factor and the establishment of acceptable selective thinking.” In a way, the “critical factor” is your internal programming- your underlying (or subconscious) thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. In hypnosis, clients work with the hypnotist to understand these underlying thoughts, beliefs, and feelings driving the problem so that they can accept new thoughts, beliefs and feelings.
What is hypnotherapy? Therapy is a method of helping people to move toward health and wholeness. Hypnotherapy is the process of using hypnosis to help people more toward health and wholeness.
Can I be hypnotized? Yes, you can be hypnotized- if you want to! Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of mind- one that occurs more frequently than you realize. We generally say that anyone of normal intelligence who is willing to follow the hypnotist’s instructions can be hypnotized. Brenda spends quite a bit of time on a client’s first session making sure that they are comfortable with the process, and then they are easily able be be hypnotized.
Are you going to make me bark like a dog or cluck like a chicken? Brenda hasn’t had any clients come to her wanting to improve their barking or clucking skills yet- so most likely no! Brenda is a fan of hypnosis stage shows and is very thankful to her stage hypnosis colleagues for their talents, but things are kept pretty professional in the Healing Path Hypnosis office.
Who will hypnotize me? Brenda Titus is a Board Certified Hypnotist. At Healing Path Hypnosis, she is the hypnotist who will be working with you to help you achieve your goals.
