In the song “My favorite things,” from “The sound of music,” the governess Maria tries to calm the childrens’ fears during a thunderstorm. She tells them that when she simply thinks of her favorite things, then she doesn’t feel so bad. Interestingly, this is a tool in the hypnotist’s toolbox to help people feel more relaxed (or less fearful like the song!). I’ll explain more in this video and walk you through this simple relaxation exercise.
